Greetings, this is Mrs. Taylor, proud principal of Warren Central High School!
Good evening, we are a little less than 5 weeks out from the end of the semester. There is plenty of time left for students to finish the semester strong. Friendly reminder that to be awarded a credit we take the average of the first two nine weeks to get the semester grade. Students depending on their schedule have the potential to earn at least 7 credits or more. I would encourage you to have a conversation with your student about their grades. There are plenty of opportunities and plenty of time for students to get additional help if needed. Tutoring, super Saturdays, and opportunities during advisory are available for students needing additional support. You may check a student's grades in ParentVue to stay updated on their progress. I would encourage you to reach out to teachers directly with questions regarding your student's grades. Attendance still continues to be key. Remember when students miss one day it is equivalent to missing almost 2 days of work due to classes being blocked. Making sure students are at school daily, on time, and ready to work will assist in ensuring that students are up to date on work and mastering content.
Beginning, this week absences, students' late to school, and tardies to class will count towards students' eligibility to attend and participate in extracurricular activities. Students accumulating 5 or more absences and/or 5 or more late arrivals to school beginning November 18th will be added to the no go/participation list including but not limited to prom, games, performances, etc. Currently you should be receiving messages regarding your students' attendance via email or text. You can also check your student's attendance regularly through ParentVue. Let's finish this semester strong.
Have a great evening!
