Superintendent Update - April 10, 2024

April 10, 2024

Good afternoon, Warren Scholars, Families, and Staff,

I hope that you had a rejuvenating 2-week break and that you were able to experience the solar eclipse on Monday! What an amazing lifetime event!

We are in the home stretch of our 2023-2024 school year, and I am super proud of the progress and success that our scholars and staff have experienced this year. I am looking forward to building on this momentum as we finish this school year!

Next week, our scholars in grades 3 through 8 will begin taking the annual state assessment, ILEARN. This culminating evaluation measures proficiency in reading, math, writing, social studies, and science, tailored to each grade level. As this testing period approaches, we encourage you to ensure your child is well-rested and on time each day. A consistent routine can help your child be prepared for a successful day.

Throughout the year, our teachers and staff have diligently laid the groundwork in literacy and numeracy for our scholars. While we acknowledge that these assessments offer only a partial glimpse of our scholars' capabilities, it remains crucial that they strive to do their best.

We wish all of our scholars the best of luck! For additional information and resources pertaining to ILEARN, please visit the link attached here

Next Saturday, April 20th, the Warren Central High School Parent Teacher Student Association will host their 21st Annual Warren Pride Clean Up Event! We are excited that hundreds of WCHS students and Warren staff across the District will be participating in cleaning up our Eastside neighborhoods and streets. Eastside residents are invited to join in this event and do your part in your own neighborhood or around the Eastside. We hope you will come out and show your Eastside Pride!

Online registration is now open for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. Please take the opportunity to register your students for the 2024-2025 school year at your earliest convenience. Use your ParentVUE username and password to register current students and to add any new students for the 2024-2025 school year.

If you have a ParentVUE account, we will follow up with a Parentsquare message that will include your username and instructions on how to reset your password if necessary. Please do not create a new account as this will delay registration requests and may require you to repeat the process with the correct account.

If you do not have a ParentVUE account we encourage you to contact your school to begin the process. In addition to the online registration process, this account allows you to monitor your student's attendance, grades, report cards and more. It also gives a convenient way to send and receive messages with teachers.

Thank you for your continued investment in Warren scholars, schools, and staff. I am excited and looking forward to finishing our successful school year in a positive way!

Together, #WarrenWill create Joy in the Journey!

Dr. Tim Hanson, Superintendent of Schools for MSD Warren Township
